With the support of Congressman David Rouzer, H.R. 4275, known as the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2025, has been approved by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. This legislation provides funding for the Coast Guard to protect U.S. territorial waters and maritime borders, combat illegal drug and migrant flows into the country, facilitate commerce, enhance transparency, and address Chinese expansion in the Pacific.

“The men and women of our United States Coast Guard deserve to have the resources and tools needed to effectively protect America’s maritime interests,” said Congressman David Rouzer. “I am proud to see the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2025 advance out of committee with broad, bipartisan support. It is a strong step forward for national security, economic resilience, and those who wear the Coast Guard uniform with honor.”

H.R. 4275 also maintains historic investments in the Coast Guard secured through previous legislation.

The Senate’s version of this act was passed on March 5, 2025. Following approval in the House, discussions will begin with Chairman Cruz, Ranking Member Cantwell, and members of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
