Rep. David Rouzer, who represents North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District and serves as Chairman of the Highways & Transit Subcommittee, has recently shared updates regarding weather safety, infrastructure visits, and local business engagement through his official social media account.

On August 18, 2025, Rouzer warned constituents about coastal hazards following a hurricane: “As Hurricane Erin moves offshore, NC-07 will be seeing dangerous rip currents and rough surf this week. Please stay out of the water, follow local alerts, and put safety first!”

Later that day on August 18, he described a recent visit to a regional rail facility: “Had an insightful visit to CSX Davis Yard in Leland recently. Freight rail plays a vital role in keeping NC-07 and the entire country connected and competitive. As Chairman of the Highways & Transit Subcommittee, I’m committed to investing in the infrastructure—both on roads and”

On August 20, Rouzer highlighted his support for small businesses with another update: “This district work period I’ve gotten to tour some of the great small businesses in NC-07, like Koppers Inc. in Leland, a key player in wood treatment and infrastructure support. Proud to see innovation and good jobs right here in our community!”

Rouzer has held office since winning election in 2014 against Jonathan Barfield Jr., securing approximately 59% of the vote. He has consistently won re-election over several cycles: defeating J. Wesley Casteen in 2016 with about 61%, Kyle Horton in 2018 with roughly 56%, Chris Ward in 2020 with just over 60%, Charles Graham in 2022 with nearly 58%, and Marlando Pridgen most recently in 2024 by approximately the same margin.
