The Master Gardener Volunteer Association is preparing for its 38th annual plant sale, scheduled to take place from April 10-13 at the New Hanover County Arboretum and N.C. Cooperative Extension, located at 6206 Oleander Drive. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Attendees will find a selection of more than 4,500 perennials, 3,400 annuals, and 600 hostas and ferns. A key focus of the sale is the availability of native plants that support local wildlife populations and contribute to the community’s botanical landscape. A free Seed Swap will also be featured, offering guests the opportunity to exchange labeled seed packets, whether from a store or harvested from personal gardens.

Master Gardeners and other staff members will provide expert advice on plant selections and help ensure plants are transferred safely to vehicles. Given the limited parking, attendees are encouraged to carpool to minimize wait times. In preparation for the sale, the New Hanover County Arboretum will close from April 7-9.
