New Hanover County invites citizens to join boards and committees

The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners is inviting local residents to apply for positions on various county boards and committees. This initiative aims to encourage citizen participation in county governance.

Available positions span several committees, including the New Hanover County Adult Home Care Community Advisory Committee, Board of Examiners of Electricians, and the Board of Mechanical Examiners. Other opportunities include roles on the Commission on African American History, Heritage, and Culture, Health and Human Services Board, Inspections Department Advisory Council, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, Library Advisory Board, Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee, and the Tourism Development Authority.

Applicants must be residents of New Hanover County. Applications can be acquired from the Board of Commissioners Office at the New Hanover County Government Center or by calling 910-798-7149. They are also available online at the county’s boards and committees web page. The deadline for applications is August 1, 2025. Selections will be considered at the meeting scheduled for August 18, 2025.
