During an Agenda Review meeting on Thursday, the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners decided to reinstate a nursing model used during the COVID-19 pandemic. This move will ensure that every campus in New Hanover County Schools has an on-site nurse position.
Board Chair Bill Rivenbark stated, “Residents and parents spoke up, and we listened. That’s how government should work, and I want to thank our community for making their voices heard.”
The county plans to start advertising immediately for additional nurse positions. Job details and application instructions will be posted at NHCgov.com/Careers. Further information about school-based services, including nursing, is available on the Health and Human Services website.
