New Hanover County, North Carolina, is inviting residents to participate in local government by applying for various board and committee positions. Applicants are sought for several positions within the county’s governance structure.
Positions available include seats on the Airlie Gardens Foundation Board of Directors, Cape Fear Museum Advisory Board, and Cape Fear Public Utility Authority. The New Hanover County ABC Board, Adult Home Care Community Advisory Committee, and Airport Authority also have openings.
The call for applicants extends to positions on the New Hanover County Board of Mechanical Examiners, which covers categories such as Class I to III Journeyman Mechanics and NC Registered Mechanical Engineers. Openings in the Commission on African American History, Heritage, and Culture are focused on the Faith Community category.
Opportunities are also available with the New Hanover County Cooperative Extension Advisory Council, the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council under the Business Community category, and the Non-County Agency Funding Committee for Education (pre-k through 12).
Additional positions are open with the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and Plumbing Board of Examiners, including Journeyman and Master Plumbers. The Tourism Development Authority seeks members with experience in vacation rental properties.
The Parks Conservancy of New Hanover County, Inc. Board of Directors is also looking for committed individuals to join.
