New Hanover County is seeking to fill the position of Elections Director, responsible for overseeing all aspects of election administration in Wilmington and surrounding areas. The role involves supervising staff and temporary workers, managing voter registration, absentee ballots, candidate filings, preparing ballots and voting machines, handling budget and vendor contracts, training poll workers, ensuring polling place accessibility, and representing the Board of Elections in a non-partisan manner.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree—preferably in political science—and at least seven years of experience with elections or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The selected candidate must obtain North Carolina Election Administrator certification within three years. CERA certification is also encouraged.

“Strong Republican voices are urgently needed to guarantee transparency, prevent irregularities, and restore public trust in New Hanover County elections. Your experience can make the difference,” according to the announcement.

The New Hanover County GOP encourages qualified Republicans to apply for this leadership opportunity. “Together, we can secure free, fair, and transparent elections for every voter in Wilmington and New Hanover County.”

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Interested individuals may contact info@newhanovergop.org for more information or to get involved.
