Rep. David Rouzer, who represents North Carolina’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 16 and 17, 2025, highlighting his recent activities related to transportation policy and public safety.
On July 16, Rouzer expressed appreciation for Secretary Duffy’s participation in a congressional hearing. He wrote, “Thank you, Secretary Duffy, for joining us at today’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing. It was valuable to hear a firsthand update on the important work you’re doing and how Congress can assist.

Later that day, Rouzer acknowledged former President Donald Trump’s efforts regarding community safety. In his tweet he stated, “Thank you, President Trump, for taking action to make our communities safe again!” (July 16, 2025)
The following morning on July 17, Rouzer described meeting with key transportation officials before addressing industry leaders at an event in Washington D.C. He tweeted: “This morning, I caught up with USDOT Secretary Sean Duffy and House T&I Chairman Sam Graves before speaking to industry leaders at the Surface Reauthorization event at the DOT’s office in D.C. It’s great to hear Secretary Duffy’s goals align with Committee’s, as we work together” (July 17, 2025)
Rouzer has represented North Carolina’s 7th District since replacing Mike McIntyre in Congress in 2015 and previously served in the North Carolina Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Landstuhl, West Germany in 1972 and currently residing in Wilmington at age 51, he graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994.
