Rep. David Rouzer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing North Carolina’s 7th district since 2015, recently shared his thoughts on various commemorative days through a series of tweets. Born in Landstuhl, West Germany in 1972 and currently residing in Wilmington, Rouzer has been an active political figure since his time in the North Carolina Senate from 2009 to 2013.

On May 5, Rep. Rouzer celebrated Small Business Week by highlighting one of his favorite small businesses in his district. He tweeted about Leinwand’s of Elizabethtown, noting its longstanding presence since 1935: “It is Small Business Week! One of my favorite small businesses in NC-07 is Leinwand’s of Elizabethtown. The department store has been a staple of Elizabethtown since 1935!”

The following day, May 6, he expressed gratitude towards educators on Teacher Appreciation Day with a tweet that read: “Happy Teacher Appreciation Day! To the educators who inspire minds, spark curiosity, and shape the future—thank you for your endless dedication and tireless work!”

Later that same day, Rep. Rouzer acknowledged National Nurses Day by honoring nurses’ contributions to society: “Happy National Nurses Day to the heroes in scrubs! Your compassion, strength, and dedication make the world a healthier, kinder place. Thank you for all that you do—today and every day!”
