A North Carolina senator is reminding the business community that there are a few days remaining to apply for funding through the Job Retention Grant Program.
Sen. Bill Rabon (R-Brunswick) posted to his Facebook page on Aug. 20 that the application process will remain open until Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 11:59 p.m.
The North Carolina Job Retention Grant Program will assist businesses and nonprofits negatively affected by the economic crisis created by COVID-19 restrictions, providing grants equal to as much as two months of an entity’s average monthly payroll for 2019, plus 25%.
The total amount any single entity can receive is $250,000, according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce. However, no more than $15 million in grants will be awarded under the program, and individual grants may be adjusted to provide funding to additional qualified applicants.
Among other requirements outlined on the Department of Commerce website, applicants must not have received previous relief related to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the federal Paycheck Protection Program.
