An economic analyst is optimistic about job growth potential based on results from a recent business community survey in the Cape Fear area.
"What we are optimistic about and what the data shows us is that companies are still planning for growth," RTI Internatioexpectingic development analyst Michael Hogan said, the WilmingtonBiz reported on Sept. 1, "and they are expecting to hire between 9,600 and 17,500 new employees in the next three years."
The survey was intended to gather information about business and workforce development needs and was distributed to six counties through a collaboration led by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Cape Fear Collective and more than 50 regional organizations, the WilmingtonBiz reported.
The survey and analysis received close to 500 responses from business owners across the region, the WilmingtonBiz reported.
"We launched this survey during the pandemic and economic crisis," Hogan said, the WilmingtonBiz reported. "So amid the pandemic and this job downturn, businesses are still expressing optimism about hiring."
