Wilmington, NC Fire Department issued the following announcement on July 22.
The Wilmington Fire Department was highlighted as national leaders in a newly released textbook by publisher Jones & Bartlett Learning.
The book, titled Community Risk Reduction Principles and Practice, was written by Beverley E. Walker.
Walker mentions the work of WFD employees CRR Coordinator Wendy Giannini-King, Fire Marshal Chris Walker, and Retired Chief Frank Blackley several times throughout the 400 page book, which will be used in CRR training nationally, and possibly even internationally.
