Brunswick County Board of Commissioners Next Regular Meeting Is Monday, Aug. 16

Brunswick County issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.

The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners met for a regular meeting this Monday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m.

The commissioners chambers are on the first floor of the David R. Sandifer Administration Building at 30 Government Center Drive in Bolivia (28422).

Below are a few selected items from the agenda that the Board of Commissioners will discuss and take possible action on during the regular meeting.

VI. PRESENTATION

  1. Clerk to the Board – Resolution Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Brunswick Family Assistance Agency, Inc.: Request that the Board of Commissioners adopt a Resolution Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Brunswick Family Assistance Agency, Inc.
  2. Clerk to the Board – Resolution in Support of Brunswick Business and Industry Development: Request the Board of Commissioners approve the attached Resolution In Support of the Brunswick Business and Industry Development
  3. Engineering – County Complex Site and Buildings Master Plan Study: Request that the Board of Commissioners receive the final complex site and buildings master plan presentation by Charles Boney, FAIA, of LS3P Associates.
  4. Health and Human Services – COVID-19 Update: Request that the Board of Commissioners receive an update on the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
VII. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT

  1. Health and Human Services – Social Services Social Worker III Child Welfare Positions: Request the Board of Commissioners approve four new full-time Social Worker III positions and reclassify a vacant Social Worker II to a Social Worker III position in the Child Welfare Division Social Services.
  2. Human Resources – Temporary Employee Referral Bonus Program: Request that the Board of Commissioners review the enclosed Temporary Employee Referral Bonus Program and provide staff with direction.
  3. Human Resources – Temporary Sign-On Bonus Program: Request that the Board of Commissioners review the enclosed Temporary Sign-on Bonus Program and provide staff with direction.
Additionally, some meetings have public hearings for specific issues. The public hearings are similar to a public comment period but pertain to one topic. Individuals wishing to speak during a public hearing should sign up before the meeting starts on the form at the door dedicated to public hearings. This form is separate from the form used to sign up for public comments at the beginning of the meeting.

Speakers wishing to distribute any related documents, printed comments or materials to the commissioners should deliver at least eight copies to the county clerk at least fifteen minutes before the meeting starts.
