Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Food Business is one of the hardest to succeed in, but that doesn't hold back the smart, passionate entrepreneurs who jump in to make money with their great food ideas and awesome cooking! This 2-part series will cover crucial areas that a business owner should know in order to make a food business legal, safe and profitable in the long term. This course is for dreamers, or people already in business: no shame in the startup game! Bring your real-life questions and concerns to this hands-on, targeted, confidential space. You'll come away with great information to grow your business wisely.

Part 1:

Lots of people start food businesses from home. Though it's illegal, it's real-life, and it's the way many businesses get started or "tried on". In Part One, we'll discuss the realities of commercial food preparation, basics of food safety and sanitation, and the risks and liabilities faced by home-based cooks and caterers. Includes a live Q&A session.
