University of North Carolina, Wilmington issued the following annoucement on Oct. 21.
The UNCW Department of Campus Life is hosting “Fall Into Involvement,” a series of student organization fairs highlighting various themes and interests popular in the UNCW community. Many of the registered student organizations were scheduled to participate in the 2021 Involvement Carnival, which was cancelled because of COVID restrictions.
“A true official Involvement Carnival, unfortunately, is impossible to reschedule,” said Darion Bayles ’19M, coordinator for campus activities and involvement. “Both Involvement Carnival and Beach Blast have so many moving pieces that planning for both programs start in January.”
FII is smaller in scale (no more than 20 organizations). Bayles said a spring UNCWelcome series is also in the works.
The fairs will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Chancellors Walk near Leutze Hall facing the Clocktower. In the case of inclement weather, the event will take place on the first floor of the Fisher University Union. The campus community can register via WaveLink.
