Brunswick Community College issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.
If you are struggling without your high school diploma and haven’t heard of G.E.A.R., it’s time to check it out. That’s what David D. did and it’s paying back big time. David recently earned his High School Equivalency Diploma through GED testing as part of the Gateway to Employment and Academic Readiness program at BCC.
David left school in 1993, and became a father to 3 children. While he spent most of his career working in chemical plants, David found himself in between jobs and quickly realized that he needed his high school credentials to secure better employment.
He started his journey with BCC in November 2021, and was determined to succeed. He attended classes and worked hard, enabling him to pass his exams and graduate in a very short time. But that’s not all. David is now pursuing an Associate Degree in computer science at BCC, preparing him to enter a high-demand industry that offers career growth and competitive wages. Congratulations, David. Thank you for making us proud. We are honored to be part of your journey.
