STREET CLOSURES for the NC Blueberry Festival
The NC Blueberry Festival Association has requested the following streets to be closed during the NC Blueberry Festival event on June 17th and 18th of this year. All street closures listed below have been approved by the Town of Burgaw Board of Commissioners. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation during this annual event. For questions regarding the festival, please contact the NC Blueberry Festival Association at 259-2007.
· Half of Dudley Street from Wilmington Street to Fremont Street to be closed at 3 PM on Thursday, June 16 until 7 PM on Friday, June 17 for the BBQ Cook-off.
· Wright Street from Wilmington Street to Fremont Street to be closed at 4 AM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Saturday, June 18. This will include half of Courthouse Avenue with the closure ending at the alley.
· Fremont Street from Walker Street to Wright Street to be closed at 4 AM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Saturday, June 18
· Walker Street from Wilmington Street to Fremont Street to be closed at 5 PM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Saturday, June 18.
· Walker Street from Fremont Street to Satchwell Street to be closed at 11 PM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Saturday, June 18
· Fremont Street from Walker Street to Cowan Street to be closed at 11 PM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Saturday, June 18
· Fremont Street from Wright Street to Dudley Street to be closed at 11 PM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Friday, June 18
· Wright Street from Fremont Street to Satchwell Street to be closed from 11 PM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Saturday, June 18
· Dickerson Street from Wilmington Street to Satchwell Street to be closed at 11 PM on Friday, June 17 until 11 PM on Saturday, June 18. This will include the second half of Courthouse Avenue.
· Wright Street from Satchwell Street to Williams Street to be closed from 7 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, June 18 for the car show. Cross streets will remain open at Satchwell Street and Hayes Street.
· Temporary closure of roads to allow for the 5K run and Tour de Blueberry bicycle ride.
5K Event Street Closures
Along with other Blueberry Festival activities, the 5K run will once again be held on Saturday, June 18th, 2022. The run will begin at 7:00 am with street closures beginning at 6:30 am. The roads and areas effected by the 5K run will be the following:
- South Walker Street from Fremont to Hwy 117
- South Bickett Street from Walker to Fremont
- South McNeil Street from Walker to Fremont
- South Bennett Street from Walker to Fremont
- South Campbell Street from Walker to Fremont
- South Cowan Street from Walker to Fremont
- Hayes Street from Walker to Dickerson
Due to the run closing streets between 6:30 am until the completion, traffic to the hospital should use Wilmington Street to South Bennett Street to access the emergency room or Satchwell Street parking area for employees and visitors.
