About Juneteenth
Juneteenth celebrates the freedom of enslaved people in the United States at the end of the Civil War. In 2021, Juneteenth was designated a federal holiday and is observed each year on June 19.
Many events are planned for the Juneteenth Celebration in Wilmington. All events are open to the public.
