Stacey Huffman has been named the North Carolina Career Development Association 2022-23 president after serving as the president-elect for 2021-22 and leading the execution of a successful virtual conference last February.

“Stacey is an inclusive leader who seeks all voices to be heard and makes a difference in NCCDA’s strategic goals and mission,” said Amy Willard, associate director of the Office of Personal & Career Development at Wake Forest University and outgoing NCCDA president. “She is thoughtful in her words and actions with others, creating a community ready for partnership to implement new ideas by addressing the needs of all our constituents and members.”

Stacey has served the UNCW community for seven years, initially as a career counselor and currently as the assistant director for career exploration. In this role, she supports all students who are exploring majors and careers. Stacey is a certified Clifton Strengths Coach and trains other UNCW staff to become strengths coaches. She is skilled in a variety of career assessments and leads the planning of many career events including the Academic Majors and Minors Fair and Careerfest.

Career Center Director Nadirah Pippen said Stacey is an extremely dedicated career development professional.

“She not only cares about the students, faculty, and staff she serves, but also about her growing leadership roles within the career center team,” Pippen said. “Serving as the incoming NCCDA president only solidifies what I've known all along; Stacey is a rock star professional and a leader both in our office and within our field.”
