We are pleased to announce that Brunswick County Schools in conjunction with Brunswick County Health Services will be offering in-school vaccinations!
During the month of September, Brunswick County Health Services will offer in-school 7th and 12th-grade immunizations. Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines are required for students entering the 7th and a Meningococcal vaccine booster is required for students entering the 12th grade (10A NCAC 41A .0401).
This immunization opportunity will be available to 7th and 12th-grade students who have not already received Tdap or meningococcal vaccine.
The goal of this immunization initiative is to ensure compliance with state immunization laws.
Vaccines will be administered by Health Services nurses to students who have signed parental permission forms.
Information for vaccination dates, locations, and permission forms will also be posted on the Brunswick County Health Services webpage and on the Brunswick County Schools website.
We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. If you would like your child/children to participate in the school vaccination clinics, please print, complete, and return the permission forms to your child’s school.
Usually, individuals with insurance will not have any out-of-pocket costs. We will file your insurance and if you (parent/guardian) are responsible for a co-pay or deductible, we will bill you. Students that are underinsured or have no insurance can qualify for state-supplied vaccines at no cost. You must fill out the insurance section on the permission form. The parent/guardian will be responsible for any costs not covered by insurance. For billing questions and concerns, please call 910-253-2259 or 910-253-2316.
If you have any medical questions or concerns, please call your child’s healthcare provider or you may contact Brunswick County Health Services at 910-253-2268.
Please visit the Brunswick County Schools website for information on required immunizations for all seventh and twelfth-grade students!
