Atlantis magazine, UNCW’s student magazine of literature and art, was awarded a Pinnacle Award Honorable Mention for Best Magazine Cover at MediaFest22: The 2022 Fall National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C. Pinnacle Awards recognize the best of college media in the nation.
The cover of the summer 2021 issue features original art by Shannon Kerrigan '21 and cover design by Lauran Jones '22 and Alaina Bubeck '21. Atlantis was one among a field of five national finalists in its category.
In addition, Atlantis won fifth place for its spring 2022 print edition in the Associated Collegiate Press’s Best of Show contest.
Atlantis is led this academic year by editor-in-chief Sidney Wollmuth ’22, MA ’23 and is published three times per year. Founded in 1971, Atlantis publishes literature and art created by students enrolled in any university (public or private) or community college in North Carolina. Atlantis also sponsors art exhibits, readings, multimedia events, musical performances, and literary contests.
