From  March  10, 2023 post.

Deputy Willie McRae with the BCSO I.M.P.A.C.T. Unit conducted an Active Shooter Training presentation for staff members from Hope Harbor Home Inc. and other domestic violence shelters/organizations from New Hanover, Pender and Columbus Counties. The training, which was requested by the group, was held earlier today at the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office. Deputy McRae discussed situational awareness, options when encountering an active shooter, and various other important strategies related to this type of incident.

We are grateful to this group for trusting our team with providing them information regarding active shooter incidents. While we hope no one has to encounter an active shooter, we believe in the importance of being prepared.
