Washington, D.C. - Senator Ted Budd, a Republican from North Carolina, has co-sponsored a bipartisan bill aimed at increasing awareness of resources available for veteran homebuyers. The bill, known as S. 3068 or the VA Home Loan Awareness Act, seeks to add a disclosure to the standard mortgage pre-qualification application to highlight the VA Home Loan Program.

The VA Home Loan Program is a government initiative that provides favorable mortgage options for veterans, allowing them to purchase homes with little to no down payment and at competitive interest rates. Despite the benefits offered by the program, many veterans are not aware of its existence.

The bill was originally introduced by Senators Mike Braun, a Republican from Indiana, and Sherrod Brown, a Democrat from Ohio. By adding a disclosure to the pre-qualification application, the bill aims to increase awareness among veterans about the option of utilizing the VA Home Loan Program.

Senator Budd expressed his support for the bill, stating, "The men and women who served our country in uniform deserve all the support we can give them. Making it easier for veterans to purchase a home is a worthy mission, and I'm proud to support Senator Braun's bill to help."

The VA Home Loan Program has been instrumental in assisting veterans in achieving homeownership. By providing favorable terms and conditions, it has helped countless veterans fulfill their dream of owning a home. However, the lack of awareness about the program has hindered many veterans from taking advantage of these benefits.

The addition of a disclosure to the mortgage pre-qualification application will serve as a vital tool in informing veterans about the VA Home Loan Program. With this increased awareness, more veterans will have the opportunity to access affordable and accessible housing options.

The bipartisan effort behind the VA Home Loan Awareness Act demonstrates a commitment to supporting veterans and ensuring they receive the assistance they deserve. By working together across party lines, Senators Budd, Braun, and Brown are striving to make a positive impact on the lives of veterans.

As the bill moves forward, it is hoped that it will garner support from both sides of the aisle and ultimately become law. With increased awareness and access to resources, veteran homebuyers will have the opportunity to achieve their homeownership goals and enjoy the benefits they have earned through their service to our country.
