Washington, D.C. - Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) has joined forces with Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) to co-sponsor the Justice for Angels Families Act. This legislation aims to provide support and justice to Angel Families, who are the immediate relatives of victims who lost their lives due to homicides committed by illegal immigrants, including drunk driving accidents.

One of the key provisions of the bill is to expand the coverage of the Crime Victims Fund specifically for Angel Families. This fund provides financial assistance to victims of crimes, and the proposed amendment seeks to ensure that families affected by illegal immigrant crimes receive the support they need during their time of grief.

Additionally, the bill seeks to reinstate and codify the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office at the Department of Homeland Security. Established in 2017 by President Trump, the VOICE Office was designed to assist victims and their families who have been impacted by crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

In a statement, Senator Ted Budd expressed his support for the Justice for Angel Families Act, emphasizing the importance of preventing such tragedies from occurring. He said, "The pain and heartbreak of Angel Families is something that no one should have to face. Tragedies like these should not be allowed to happen." Senator Budd also highlighted the significance of the bill in not only expanding funds for the families of victims killed by illegal immigrants but also reinstating the Trump administration's initiative to track and report on crimes committed by individuals who should not be in the country in the first place.

The Justice for Angel Families Act serves as a crucial step towards recognizing and addressing the devastating impact that crimes committed by illegal immigrants can have on families. By expanding financial support and reestablishing the VOICE Office, this legislation aims to provide solace and assistance to those who have suffered unimaginable loss.

The bill, co-sponsored by Senators Ted Budd and Roger Marshall, aims to provide justice and support for Angel Families, while also working towards preventing future tragedies. It remains to be seen how this legislation will progress, but its introduction is a testament to the ongoing efforts to protect and support those affected by crimes committed by illegal immigrants.
