2021 has 7.1% of Pender County residents unemployed

Pender County recorded an unemployment rate of 7.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,047 people out of the 59,964 living in Pender County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Pender County has decreased compared to the 7.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Pender County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.2%.

Of the 26,970 people who had a job during that time, 407 were employed in the Armed Forces and 26,563 belonged to the civilian labor force.
