U.S. Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) issued a statement in response to reports that the Biden Administration plans to transfer 11 detainees from the Guantanamo Bay detention facility in Cuba to Oman. This transfer is reportedly set to occur shortly after the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel.
Budd criticized the decision, stating, "President Biden is more interested in appeasing his radical left supporters by closing Guantanamo Bay than fulfilling his duty to protect and defend the American people. It is beyond reckless for the Biden Administration to even consider releasing terrorists at a time when terrorism is on the rise again in the Middle East. Under no circumstances should these terrorists ever be released."
