Yancey County, N.C. — Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) visited the Blue Ridge Parkway today and met with officials from the National Park Service (NPS), Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, the Yancey County Chamber of Commerce, and other local community leaders to continue advocating for the parkway's designation as a National Historic Landmark.

On April 15, 2024, Senator Budd sent a letter to National Park Service Director Charles Sams III to "encourage the Department of Interior and the National Historic Landmarks Committee to designate the Blue Ridge Parkway as a National Historic Landmark."
