The Wilmington City Council will convene for a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 102 North Third Street.

Key items on the agenda include a proclamation naming June 2024 as Pride Month and a resolution to renew the Interlocal Agreement with New Hanover County for the operation of the Forensic Lab. The City will supply 40% of the funding, not exceeding $293,173, while the County will cover 60% of the lab’s annual operating costs.

Additionally, there will be a resolution expressing support for H.R. 7922, federal legislation proposing the establishment of Water Risk and Resilience Organizations to enhance cybersecurity for water and wastewater utilities.

The council will also conduct the first vote on the recommended budget for FY25. The second and final vote is scheduled for June 18. A public hearing on this budget was held in May, and it is set to go into effect on July 1.

The full agenda can be viewed online. Written comments for public hearings can be submitted via an online comment form until noon on Monday, June 3. These meetings are available for remote viewing through GTV8 (Spectrum channel 8), www.wilmingtonnc.gov/gtv, www.youtube.com/user/cityofwilmington, or by downloading the “cablecast” app from any app store and searching for “City of Wilmington.”
