The Town of Burgaw Board of Adjustment announced on May 13 that it will hold a quasi-judicial hearing during a special meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at 5:30 PM. The meeting will take place at the Burgaw Town Center, located at 108 E. Wilmington Street in Burgaw, North Carolina.

The main topic for consideration is a request by applicant Crystal Batts seeking a variance from Section 8.13 – Dimensional Requirements of the Town of Burgaw Unified Development Ordinance. Batts is requesting permission to reduce the required forty-foot rear-yard setback by thirty feet to allow construction of an accessory structure or garage.

Residents or interested parties who have questions regarding this matter are encouraged to contact Ron Meredith, Planning Director, at 910-663-3452.

Immediately following the Board of Adjustment’s special meeting and hearing, the regularly scheduled Planning Board Meeting will be held as planned.

This special meeting provides an opportunity for public input and ensures that requests such as variances are considered in accordance with local ordinances.
