City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on Oct. 6.
The City is asking you to organize and implement an event which accomplishes the goals listed below. The proposal you submit will describe the event and how it will accomplish these goals. If your proposal is selected, the City will pay you $500 for your idea and time. The City will also fund up to $1,500 of other event costs (restrictions may apply). The goals of this RFP are to:
- Educate the public on the Rail Realignment Project
- Focus engagement efforts toward traditionally underserved areas of the community
- Make it easier for everyone and anyone to be a part of public project conversations
- Incentivize and empower members of the community to participate in public processes
- Test new ideas on how to reach and hear from new audiences
New and creative ideas are welcome!
The City’s hope is to encourage the greatest level of participation possible in this RFP. Professional credentials are not required to participate in this RFP. The evaluation criteria used to select proposals will not consider experience or professional qualifications. Instead, the selection committee will be looking for good, executable ideas that align with the City’s stated goals above. Individuals, groups or businesses are equally welcome to participate. Do not let concerns of credentials, contracts, insurance requirements or any other such items discourage you from participating in this RFP. If you have a good idea we will work with you to have the rest fall into place.
