City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.
Drivers can expect to see intermittent lane closures at the intersection of South Third Street and Dock Street while contracted crews for the NCDOT extend the existing median on South Third Street and add a marked crosswalk with a pedestrian refuge area.
Drivers will encounter off-and-on lane closures on South Third Street near Dock Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some occasional nighttime lane closures may occur as well.
In addition, Dock Street will have periodic lane restrictions around this intersection until the project is completed this fall.
Drivers should slow down and be alert when traveling through this work zone.
