Thursday afternoon around 12:15 p.m., WPD units were dispatched to a possible home burglary in the 6000 block of Throwbridge Street. The Cape Fear Regional Special Teams (SWAT and Crisis Negotiation) was able to successfully clear the residence and no suspects were located inside. In addition, crews from the New Hanover County Sheriffs Office and Novant Health NHRMC assisted with this. From an initial investigation, it was determined that a burglary did not actually occur. This is an on-going investigation.
