The Wilmington City Council will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. inside Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 102 North Third Street.

Items of interest include:

  • Proclamation recognizing June 2023 as Pride Month
  • Proclamation designating July 2023 as Parks and Recreation Month
  • Employee Recognition Awards
  • Walk Wilmington Presentation
  • Annual Report of the Hannah block Historic USO Community Arts Center
  • Commission for Women Annual Report
  • Final vote on the recommended budget for FY24
  • Contracts for debris management, removal and recovery with DRC Emergency Services (as primary) and T.F.R. Enterprises (as secondary). The city keeps these contracts in place to assist in a timely clean-up from disasters such as hurricanes. The services are only authorized when a notice to proceed has been issued. City staff will continue to provide normal debris pickup services. If a notice to proceed is issued, the contractor will supplement these services in accordance with the contract. 
  • Appropriation of $482,153 from the NC Parks and Rec Trust Fund’s Accessibility for Parks Grant. The funds will be used to add an accessible playground and outdoor fitness equipment at Maides Park.
