CSX will completely close a section of Oleander Drive, near Dawson and Wooster streets, for railroad crossing work beginning 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 and lasting until 4 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. The closure is part of a network-wide infrastructure maintenance program.

Oleander Drive was initially supposed to reopen Monday morning but that has been pushed back due to an asphalt shortage, according to a CSX representative.

Drivers should plan alternate routes and be patient as this will impact east-west traffic patterns in the city in a significant way.

According to CSX, signage will be in place directing eastbound traffic to use Dawson Street to Wrightsville Avenue to Independence Blvd back to Oleander Drive. Westbound traffic will be directed to do the reverse-- use Independence Blvd to Wrightsville Avenue back to Dawson Street.
