City Offices To Close For Upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday

All offices with the City of Wilmington will be closed to the public on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24, for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

The city's Recycling & Trash Services will collect Thursday, Nov. 23 routes on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Thursday customers should have their carts out (GREEN week recycling) before 6 am Wednesday (the evening before collection is best practice). Friday, November 24 collection will not be affected.

All appointment services such as bulky, metal, or electronics pick-up for Friday, Nov 24, or Monday, Nov 27, must be scheduled before 4 pm on Wednesday, Nov 22. Call us at 910.341.7875 with any questions or appointment needs.

Recycling & Trash Services Downtown ‘Bag It’ commercial and residential customers:Bagged Trash, Cardboard, and Glass in the downtown CBD is to be placed out by the close of business Wednesday, 11/22/23 (to 2 AM Thursday). There will be no further collections on Thanksgiving Day. Please do NOT place any items out until after midnight on 11/23/23.

Also, as a reminder, there will be free on-street parking in downtown Wilmington beginning Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 23) and lasting until Sunday, Nov. 26. Happy shopping!
