Washington, D.C. - Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) has expressed his satisfaction with the release of a group of hostages from Gaza, which includes American Avigail Mor Idan and Adrienne "Aviva" Siegel, the wife of North Carolina native Keith Siegel. In a statement, Senator Budd reiterated his commitment to securing the freedom of all hostages, including Keith Siegel and Omer Neutra, who are still being held by Hamas terrorists.

"We are pleased that some hostages have been released and are now home with their loved ones," Senator Budd said. "We remain steadfast in our commitment to secure that freedom for North Carolina native Keith Siegel, Omer Neutra, and all hostages illegally held by Hamas terrorists."

The government of Qatar has been actively involved in mediating the release of hostages, and Senator Budd commended their efforts. However, he also called on the Qatari government to exert pressure on Hamas leadership to release all hostages immediately and unconditionally.

"While we are encouraged by the government of Qatar's efforts to mediate the release of some of the hostages, we renew our call to their government to exert pressure on Hamas leadership to release each and every hostage immediately and unconditionally," Senator Budd emphasized.

Senator Budd has taken proactive steps to advocate for the release of the hostages. On November 6, he met with Qatari Ambassador Meshal Al Thani in his Washington, D.C. office. During the meeting, Senator Budd urged the Qatari government to use their influence on Hamas leaders residing in Doha, Qatar, to secure the immediate release of all hostages. He also emphasized the importance of holding these Hamas leaders accountable once the hostage situation is fully resolved.

The release of hostages is a significant step towards resolving the ongoing hostage situation in Gaza. However, the focus remains on securing the release of all hostages, including Keith Siegel and Omer Neutra. Senator Budd's continued efforts and the involvement of the Qatari government are crucial in ensuring the safe return of all hostages to their families.
