Washington, D.C. - Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) delivered a strong message to the government of Qatar, urging them to take immediate action to resolve the ongoing hostages crisis. In a speech on the Senate floor, Senator Budd emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "Our patience has run out. Time is up." He called on Qatar to either pressure Hamas leaders to release the hostages or expel them from their land.

Highlighting the dire conditions faced by the hostages, Senator Budd stated, "The hostages are being deprived of food, water, and medical care. They are being subjected to unbearable violence, sexual abuse, and psychological torture by Hamas terrorists." He expressed concern over the delay in resolving the crisis, questioning, "What's taking so long?" Despite Qatar's claim that hosting Hamas leaders is necessary for negotiation purposes, Senator Budd stressed that after 111 days, the American people are demanding swift action.

Drawing attention to the role of Qatar in hosting a brutal terrorist organization, Senator Budd raised doubts about the country's leverage in securing the release of the hostages. He warned, "If Qatar is not able to effectuate the release of hostages, then there is no further reason for these terrorists to remain in their country."

Senator Budd's message to the government of Qatar was clear and direct. He stated, "Our patience has run out. Time is up. Either pressure Hamas leaders to release the hostages now, or expel them from your land. It's that simple." He emphasized that the United States of America will be closely monitoring the situation.

The hostages, including Americans and North Carolina native Keith Siegel, have been in captivity for 111 days. Senator Budd emphasized their plight, highlighting the need for their immediate release. He acknowledged the critical injuries sustained by two of the American hostages, Hersh Goldberg-Polin and Sagui Dekel-Chen, further underscoring the urgency of the situation.

Senator Budd's speech shed light on the gravity of the situation and the need for swift action. He made it clear that the United States will not tolerate the continued suffering of the hostages and called on Qatar to take decisive steps. The message was delivered with the utmost seriousness, reflecting the determination to secure the release of the hostages and bring an end to the crisis.
