Washington, D.C. — Today, Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) expressed his gratitude and excitement following the announcement of a significant investment expansion by Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies at their manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, NC.

In a statement, Senator Budd highlighted the importance of the investment, stating, “I would like to thank Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies for their continued partnership with the Old North State and congratulate their company and North Carolina’s state officials for making this expansion possible. This new investment will not only create 680 jobs, but will make North Carolina an unquestioned leader in the effort to bring pharmaceutical manufacturing back from China. Rest assured that the next effective treatment for some of the world’s most dreaded diseases will be manufactured right here in North Carolina.”

The $1.2 billion investment is set to boost job creation and solidify North Carolina's position in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. This expansion signifies a significant step towards localizing the production of essential pharmaceuticals and enhancing the state's contributions to global healthcare initiatives.

The collaboration between Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies and North Carolina reflects a promising future for the state's economy and healthcare sector, with the potential to drive innovation and advancements in the field of biotechnology.
