Washington, D.C. — Today, Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) responded to the recent video released by Hamas terrorists showing North Carolina native Keith Siegel, who has been held hostage along with his wife in Israel since October 7, 2023.
In his statement, Senator Budd expressed, “We are encouraged to see that Keith Siegel is alive, and we once again demand that Hamas release Keith and all of the hostages immediately and unconditionally. The release of this video for purposes of propaganda and psychological torture is further example of the true, evil nature of Hamas. We remain committed to bringing Keith and all hostages home.”
Senator Budd has been actively involved in efforts to secure the release of the hostages. He has engaged in various diplomatic initiatives, including meeting with Qatari officials and pushing for pressure on Hamas leaders to release the hostages.
On several occasions, Senator Budd has emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “Our patience has run out. Time is up. Either pressure Hamas leaders to release the hostages now, or expel them from your land. It’s that simple. The United States of America will be watching.”
The ongoing efforts by Senator Budd and his colleagues reflect a strong commitment to ensuring the safe return of Keith Siegel and all other hostages held by Hamas.
