Senators Thom Tillis and Ted Budd met with key leaders from the North Carolina General Assembly to discuss strategies for aiding residents affected by Hurricane Helene. The meeting took place in Washington, D.C., with the aim of expediting disaster relief efforts.
Present at the meeting were N.C. Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger, N.C. House of Representatives Speaker-elect Destin Hall, State Senators Bill Rabon and Ralph Hise, and State Representative Dudley Greene. The focus was on coordinating state and federal efforts to provide immediate assistance to those impacted by the hurricane's destruction.
"We are fully committed to doing everything in our power to ensure that Congress passes disaster relief as quickly as possible so Western North Carolina can begin the long-term recovery process," stated Senators Tillis and Budd.
