Following updates to the leadership of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Congressman David Rouzer (R-NC-07) has been appointed as chairman of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit.

Rouzer expressed his understanding of the subcommittee's role in policy development, stating, “Having been a member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure since I was elected to Congress and serving on the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit for six years, I understand the Subcommittee's importance in developing policies to connect communities, drive economic growth and ensure safer, more sustainable travel." He added that he is eager to continue collaborating with Chairman Graves and colleagues during the 119th Congress as they address surface transportation reauthorization.
