The Wilmington City Council wishes to provide city residents the opportunity to participate in city government to the maximum extent. These opportunities are a vital form of community engagement, and the city relies on the collective work of numerous residents.
The City Council is inviting interested citizens to offer their services to various boards, commissions, and committees in the city. According to the announcement made on March 8, 2024, vacancies are available for the following positions:
- NCINO SPORTS PARK USER GROUP ADVISORY COMMITTEE – (3) POSITIONS
• Representative from a Youth Football group
• Representative from the City’s Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
• Ex-Officio
- NEW HANOVER COUNTY/CITY OF WILMINGTON COMMUNITY RELATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE – (1) POSITION
• Representative from the Business Community
- PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD (1) POSITION
• At large
- JOINT CITY/COUNTY WORKFORCE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE – (1) POSITION
• Representative from the Financial Community
- SISTER CITY COMMISSION - (1) POSITION
• Representative from New Hanover County Schools
